Antarctic Swim

The first days of our trip we had true Antarctic Weather – snow, rain, hail, spray, fog and wind. Now we have the other kind of true Antarctic Weather – sun at all times, day and night, no wind, sea like a mirror and sunblock on our face. As we sailed through Lemaire for the first time we were not able to see the high peaks that surround her. As we passed again about 36 hours later, it was the clearest and most colourful evening we had during the trip.

This morning we spent close to Goudier Island – sun all night, sun in the morning, no wind at all, surrounded by ice. What else can you long for on such a morning than for a proper polar swim?
