Getting ready for the race

After motoring into the wind out of Boston harbour with a respectable number of people waving and cheering, and us honking the horn in response, we could finally properly sail at the split into the North channel. From there we sailed all the way to the start, doing practice trimming against Oosterschelde (they won).

Getting ready for the race

After motoring into the wind out of Boston harbour with a respectable number of people waving and cheering, and us honking the horn in
response, we could finally properly sail at the split into the North channel. From there we sailed all the way to the start, doing practice
trimming against Oosterschelde (they won). After being hove to in front of the start box for 20 minutes, I think we hit the line first (starting line honours!), just under 3 minutes after the signal, forcing BAP Union and Esmeralda to fall off behind us. It's been gentle sailing in almost flat water and we're doing just over 7 knots in 14 knots apparent wind. Oosterschelde, our big example, is almost 10 miles out in front. We're constantly trimming, trying to find the sweet spot.

All on board doing well, no seasickness.
